Can Dominicans trust Banking under a one man Government?
Are well to do Dominicans safe banking on the Island regardless of their political affiliations? Should you have more money in an account than the insured amount? If so, then you should divide this large amount to several accounts under the insured amount ASAP before you get a bad name on the road to being victimized in Dominica.
Is it wise to save all your money in Dominica when everything is controled by Skerrit? Skerrit banks overseas and you should also consider doing the same. No one puts all their eggs in one basket and opening accounts outside of Dominica can also open doors to loans and credit cards like Discover or American Express. Credit kicks in after amount spent and paid for in the first month on American Express cards. Discover secured cards are refunded after 6-12 months of on time payments thus giving you a unsecured credit card based on opening secured amount. Accounts can be open on your next visit to the US by simply calling and requesting an Individual Tax Payer Identification Number (ITIN). Visas, green card or a social security number is not used in this instance. However, a address in the US will be needed whether it be virtual or physical. An occasional ferry ride to Martinique or Guadeloupe may also open up banking options without residency requirements giving you an edge in your banking diversification journey.
My personal banking experience in Dominica has introduced me to an underground banking network where banking laws are not practiced to all while old friends & dictatorship cook the books. This is why some inviduals get preferential banking treatment allowing them to thrive. A bank is a business and these businesses create fraudulent documents including bank statements to hide stolen money knowing that their currupt environment will protect them. Yes, banks do rob themselves leaving account holders as victims. It has happened to me and you can be next if you remain naive and put all your eggs under Skerrit.
In this underground network bad stories are concocted on the victims to justify the crime while lawyers and judges play ball and act out a predetermined outcome in court regardless of evidence. The courts also play their part and delays the trial for years while the criminals hide and thrive under Skerrits umbrella. The police will simply slam the door in your face at least three times (Mahuat Police Station) or try to arrest you (CID) if you bring them any evidence. They have also placed me under investigation for 6 months for clearing a 40 foot container at port filled with tires and not paying to clear it while I was residing in New York at the time. This container was imported by the same criminals behind the bank fraud protected by the Skerrit Government. Not to mention an attempt to frame me or scare me at Marigot airport so I won't return on the island.
This underground banking network also extended to The Minster of Immigration Rayburn Blackmore who threatened both me and my Kenyan wife outside his office in the hallway leading to the elevator. Over the span of six months no one from Blackmores office could clearify or explain where to obtain a "specific" US police record needed for my wife's residency in an attempt to prevent us from residing on the Island. I asked Blackmore in the hallway why is he holding back my wifes residency papers and the ministers only reply was "just be happy you are six feet above ground". Citizen by investments investors beware. This is just some of what I have faced in Dominica after reporting that my bank account and properties have been stolen.

Lawyers will also rob you (USD $60,000 in my case, 5 lawyers) with retainers and do absolutely nothing in court to defend you or your interests knowing that the same corrupt environment will protect them. The bank will then rob you a third time if you request banking slips or account information to cross reference your account as shown above. Filling out beneficiary cards for any bank on the Island is futile as the proceeds upon death is controlled by Skerrit.
If Usain Bolt's money was not stolen we probably would have never known about the other victims money that was stolen. Corruption in the Caribbean has skyrocketed and Dominicas corruption is unbearable in this jealous and hateful Caribbean island with no law and order. The law is dispensed by Skerrits emotions with no records of his psychiatric state.
